The Walker Ranch Loop is a popular ride among Boulder mountain bikers. Its initial singletrack descent to South Boulder Creek is amazing. During the spring thaw, South Boulder Creek is an impressive torrent of white water- an exhilarating sound to hear while riding along its banks. This ride weaves in and out of mixed conifer forests and offers a number of rocky singletrack sections. There is one section of the trail that requires you to portage down a steep cliff section- a section which some area riders consider the Walker Ranch Loop's best or worst feature. Mountain lions have been spotted in the area, so pay attention to the mountain lion warning signs. Terrain: Singletrack with patches of rocks and sand; improved dirt road.
