Young Gulch is a great ride to do for those who like to get wet. During the spring thaw, the trail crosses a number of larger creeks. Since this ride travels through mixed conifer forests and under thick canopies, the trail remains quite cool, so don't expect to be warm and dry too quickly. In fact, it's best that you bring a towel and an extra pair of shoes and socks. There are a few rocky and steep technical sections, but for the most part, this out-and-back is well suited for the beginner and intermediate rider. The advanced rider will find some of the steeper, rockier sections a challenge and the descent back to his or her vehicle, an absolute thrill. Terrain: Singletrack, traveling through a gulch. As such, there are many creek crossings under forest cover.
