The Dyke Trail Loop is another trail in Crested Butte's long list of incredible rides. Combining long climbs, lakeside views, towering mountains, fast singletrack, and aspen forests, the Dyke Trail is sure to please. With the exception of the road climb to Kebler Pass and the short distance from Irwin Lake to Dyke Trailhead, this ride is comprised mostly of unbeatable singletrack. Even though your ride takes you to the top of Kebler Pass, don't be fooled that the way from Irwin Lake is all downhill. There are a couple of steep, rocky, and sandy climbs en route to Horse Ranch Park, one of which arrives just as you near the dyke. Terrain: Improved dirt road and singletrack. This trail runs its mountainous course along hard-packed forest earth. There are a number of exposed roots and rocks with which to contend. Several creek crossings, coupled with one major rock field, round out this ride's terrain.
