This Buffalo Creek ride is a good test of one's abilities, with its 20 miles of sweet single track and 2,700 feet in elevation gain. This ride cobbles together a series of different trails in a figure 8 pattern with two long climbs and two long downhills. The two long downhill trails are arguably the best in the Buffalo Creek trail system; namely the Sandy Wash Trail and the recently constructed Strawberry Jack Trail. Like most of trails in the BC system, you will find a lot of gravel and sand under your tires and not too many rocks. Definitely not a killer technical ride, but your legs will probably feel it on the final climb up the Baldy Trail. Terrain: Smooth and sandy hardpack, dirt road.
