The ten miles of singletrack looping through Chickasaw County's recreation park may be in Alabama, but it ranks as the most technically demanding and scenic bike trail system anywhere along the northernmost Gulf Coast. Chickasabogue has been regularly improved by the addition of substantial boardwalks across the wetter areas. Such an environmental awareness goes to show that the county and the park's regular riders do not take lightly the old boughs hanging over the trail from live oaks and tall longleaf pines. The sparse understory of much of the forest gives the effect of a cavern whose floor catches the dappled light sparkling on the last dew of morning.
