The Wildcat Mountain Trail was built in 1993 by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. This 10.5-mile trail system starts on top of Jack Fork Shelf, a geologic formation running for miles through the Ouachitas. The remainder of the trail uses logging roads abandoned in the 1930s. The trail is marked with orange blazes, and many of the intersections have signposts with maps of the area and "you are here" markings. While these old roads make a nice, wide trail, parts of the ride are very rocky and technical. And several long climbs make it a tough ride for beginners. This trail is located 30 miles west of Little Rock.
