Manatee Springs State Park is located 6 miles west of Chiefland on more than 2,000 acres of woodlands, adjacent to a crystal-clear first-magnitude spring that flows a short distance to the Suwannee River. The paved entrance road is a pleasant 2-mile ride, even with the occasional vehicles. The off-road trails are all double tracks under a tree canopy in hardwood hammock and sandhill communities. These are easy, fun trails for the whole family. Most good riders can travel all the trails in the park in less than an hour. Even slower riders will like these trails for general playing around and wildlife viewing at the right times of day. The mouth of the Suwannee River is only 23 miles from the park, creating great opportunities for boating and fishing as well as scuba diving in the spring itself. Trails: Paved road, 2.0 miles; dirt double track, 8.5 miles. Location: Levy County.
