The ride is located a few minutes west of Corner Brook, off the Trans-Canada Highway. Lady Slipper Road and 12-Mile Dam are logging roads that form a popular loop through the heavily forested hills that characterize western Newfoundland. This ride is a fun 12 miles that trace a loop through a landscape of rounded, rocky hills and random lakes. The gradual and infrequent climbs make it accessible to all, and fit riders will easily complete the loop in under an hour. The ease of the terrain will enable the most bashful of beginners to successfully complete this popular off-road ride without dismounting, and for the more advanced rider, the sheer speed at which you are able to travel so easily makes up for the lack of technical challenge. Also, the view onto the clear blue Corner Brook Lake and its surrounding, and still forested, hillsides serves as an excellent reminder to even the most hard-core riders of what motivates people to get on a mountain bike in the first place. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States.
