Elmira is situated on the far eastern tip of Prince Edward Island. From the Railway Museum in Elmira, the ride begins with a 5.4-mile spur along the Confederation Trail to Baltic. From Baltic, the ride turns off the multi-use trail and begins a 10-mile loop, starting along a short stretch of paved road and continuing on one of the province's preserved and protected heritage roads, the Glen Road. You will follow the Confederation Trail back to Baltic to complete the loop and then continue, retracing your tracks back to Elmira. The total distance pedaled along this combination ride is 20.4 miles. The gravel-dusted trails and hard-packed, red dirt roads that make up this ride provide an excellent surface for bikes, including those equipped to pull or carry young passengers. To top off your enjoyment of this excursion, the enchanting woodlands and open fields will provide a perfect blend of amusement, sun, and shade for a half-day excursion.
