The trail is located west of Pincher Creek, Alberta, at the West Castle Ski Area. This 9.9-mile out-and-back trail is for adventurous, expert riders only. With a total length of 19.8 miles and an elevation gain of 2,560 feet, this trail will test the strongest riders. It begins at the West Castle Ski area and follows the river of the same name. The area is alive with snowshoe hares and coyotes, so keep your eyes open. It is also a good area for grizzly bears, so ensure that you make some noise as you continue on. As you ride beneath towering Barnaby Ridge to the east and Rainy ridge to the west, the trail crosses numerous washouts from the floods of 1995. The scenery in this area is spectacular, and the valley is narrow. It feels like a box canyon, but the pass, although it may not seem like it at times, does exist. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
