The trail is located in Waterton Lakes National Park in southern Alberta. This pleasant beginner-level circuit is primarily a road ride, with a 2.54 miles of wide trail providing the link between Redrock Canyon Road and Akamina Parkway. The entire circuit is 14.14 miles and is a pleasant sunny-day activity. Following the main park road, parts of Redrock Canyon Road, and the Akamina Parkway, the trail is linked by a trail passing the pretty shores of Crandell Lake. The ride circumnavigates Crandell Mountain (7801 feet in elevation), formerly known as Black Bear Mountain. Its present name commemorates Edward Henry Crandell, a Calgarian who was involved in an ill-fated attempt to strike it rich with oil in the area.
