Over the years, mountain bikers have moved increasingly away from road rides. We look for more challenging wilderness rides and forget out graveled roots. The 19.44-mile out-and-back road up Collie Creek is one route that packs in more views per kilometer than almost anywhere else in the Rockies. Beginning along the lower slopes of Fisher Peak, the trail passes the lush growth along avalanche slopes and begins climbing out of the Blaeberry Valley at 1.68 miles. Picturesque views suddenly become spectacular as you look across the valley toward the icy surface of the Freshfield Glacier. As you continue to ascend, the eastern skyline soon reveals another icefield, known as the Wapta Icefield. The peaks above this icefield form the Continental Divide, the boundary between British Columbia and Alberta, and they also form the boundary of Banff National Park. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States. We plan to expand our topomap database in the future, however this map is not available at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
