This is one of the most well traveled trails in the Banff - Canmore area. This 24.6-mile round-trip trail is a quick downhill ride to Banff along the back of Mount Rundle. It varies between wide singletrack and deluxe fire-road riding. Riders of all abilities will enjoy this trail; it provides a pleasant introduction for novices while giving expert riders some exhilarating options for a quick downhill ride. You will need to climb a steep, dusty, 4.8-mile gravel road rising 1200 feet to access the trailhead. The scenery is pleasant, although not spectacular along this ride. Paralleling the length of Mount Rundle, you are treated to numerous views of its steeply bedded slopes. This mountain, one of the most photographed in the Rockies, is a classic example of a Front Range peak.
