The trail is located within the Kananaskis Valley, one of the most well-known areas of Alberta's Kananaskis Country. This 10.6-mile out-and-back trail takes you over a saddle on the southeast end of Mount Baldy. In the north-south direction it is an expert level trail with a long grinding uphill to a dramatic rocky summit. This is followed by an extremely technical descent that has body slammed the best of riders. The trail begins as a nice doubletrack as it climbs toward the summit of the Baldy Pass. From the pass, the summit of Mount Baldy rises sharply to the northwest, and Wasootch Towers to the southwest. To the east, the rolling foothills slowly give way to the seemingly endless plains. This is a world of steep, stark contrast. Mount Baldy is sharp and rocky with little vegetation. currently offers topo maps from the entire United States.
