While this trail is a very popular 3.46-mile loop, it also reflects the history of an area that was built on coal mining. This trail has two main access points. The principal access is from the Nordic Center itself. Most Canmoreites, however, access the trail by climbing the long staircase from the Rundle Power Plant on the Canmore Townsite Trails. This offers quick access to the Nordic Center without a car. There are great views of the Fairholme Range and the Bow River to the east. This trail has a secondary purpose as a self-guided interpretive trail.
