Old Cutler Trail runs through some of the most scenic neighborhoods in the greater Miami area. Start your journey at the south end of the trail at the Ronald Reagan Turnpike, just a short water bridge away from the Black Creek Trail to the west. From here, the trail heads northeast along the right side of Old Cutler Road and quickly turns into widened sidewalks with some shopping areas and restaurants. Trail users should proceed with caution through this section, which contains many vehicle crossings. After a short time on the trail, you’ll come to a section framed by beautiful neighborhoods and parks on either side. Note the wondrously large ficus trees with extensive aerial roots that surround the trail; in some instances, the trees create a lumpy trail surface, so stay alert. Due to the trail surface, hybrid or mountain bikes are recommended.
