This trail follows the edge of Lake Apopka, giving trail users an opportunity to see the vast array of wildlife Florida has to offer. Be sure to bring your binoculars; the total number of bird species observed on the north shore of the lake is 348, which is among the highest count in the state for a local area. The trail’s rough path (a mountain or hybrid bike is recommended) encourages you to slow down and get in touch with nature. The first thing you’ll notice after leaving the Magnolia Park trailhead on the eastern side of the lake is a small sign warning you to look out for alligators.
