This abandoned railroad line left us five Howe truss bridges and twenty-three pile trestles to cross. Ospreys and eagles, a small town, covered bridges, and prairie wildflowers will delight you as you tour the scenic right-of-way.
With more than twenty covered bridges, Lane County has more of these scenic spans than any other county west of the Appalachians. Surface: 12.6 miles is asphalt and quarter-inch gravel for horses. The remaining, undeveloped 3 miles is large ballast. Location: Cottage Grove, 25 miles south of Eugene, in Lane County.
