This abandoned railroad line left us five Howe truss bridges and twenty-three pile trestles to cross. Ospreys and eagles, a small town, covered bridges, and prairie wildflowers will delight you as you tour the scenic right-of-way. With more than twenty covered bridges, Lane County has more of these scenic spans than any other county west of the Appalachians. Surface: 12.6 miles is asphalt and quarter-inch gravel for horses. The remaining, undeveloped 3 miles is large ballast. Location: Cottage Grove, 25 miles south of Eugene, in Lane County.

This "trail" is great. Just took the boys on a 20 miler from the hwy up. The asphalt is wide enough for trailers but passing would be tricky in some spots. The ride was pretty easy and most novices could do this ride. This is a great trail for family rides.
