There are a number of hiking trails—including a fitness trail with exercise stations—and almost all of them offer easy to moderate walking. A guide available from the park describes what you might encounter along each trail.
The Conestoga River loops around the park and offers some good fishing and a nice, relaxing Class I float if you want to canoe or kayak. Mill Creek can also be fished. And if you just want to relax, the Shuts Environmental Library, housed in an eighteenth-century farmhouse, has 4,500-plus books and videos on nature, wildlife, gardening, Native Americans, health, wilderness survival, and other topics, as well as field guides, available to borrow.
