This park, surrounded by Bald Eagle State Forest, is quaint, quiet, and relaxing. Honey Creek splits it from end to end and offers decent fishing for stocked trout, especially in spring, and is paralleled by hiking trails on both sides. Bridges cross the stream at four points, so you can hike upstream, fish the length of the stream, and then cross over and walk back or shorten the trip at various points. And try casting your line into some of the smaller tributary streams that flow into Honey Creek. Many hold populations of wild trout. If you’re hiking, be sure to check out the ruins of the old water storage dam that dates to the mid-1800s, when a water-powered sawmill operated here at the southwest end of the park.
