The park is completely surrounded by Susquehannock State Forest. Why it’s worth a visit: This is not a park you visit expecting to be entertained. There are no programs to teach you about the outdoors, no playgrounds, no amenities beyond the very basics. But if you know about the outdoors and are just looking for a jumping- off point to do your own thing, this is the perfect place. The 85-mile Susquehannock Trail System bisects the park, so if you like to backpack, this is a great base camp. There is a mountain bike trail here as well. No pets are allowed.
