Lackey Flats is on the southern shore of Tionesta Lake, about 2 miles upstream of the launching ramp at Tionesta Recreation Area. It’s a boat- in only site, but it can be fairly busy on weekends. There is a fee to launch your boat, but no fee to camp. One thing to keep in mind is that the Pittsburgh District of the Corps requires children younger than 13 to wear a life jacket at all times when on this lake. If you don’t have enough life jackets, this is a “life jacket loaner program” site, with about fifteen life jackets in three sizes for children: infant, child, and youth.
