This is a tiny one, with just a half-dozen sites, and it’s right along the road’s edge. It’s beautiful nonetheless, with babbling Minister Creek right outside your tent or RV window. There are a lot of reasons to like this campground. If you canoe or kayak, the trip along Tionesta Creek from Sheffield to Minister Creek is a lovely one, though it’s best done in spring before Tionesta Creek gets too low. If it’s hiking you prefer, the 6-mile Minister Creek Trail loop is a dandy that connects to the North Country National Scenic Trail. The campground is also a perfect jumping-off spot if you like to fish small streams for native brook trout.
