This campground has the benefit of being fairly secluded, without good foot access, so it’s lightly used and popular with those who like solitude. A lot of wildlife calls Allegheny National Forest home—black bears, white-tailed deer, bobcats, coyotes, squirrels, raccoons, birds of all manner and variety—and sometimes being in a boat increases your chances of spotting it. Senior and Access passes, available through any of the forest offices, entitle visitors to a 50 percent discount on these and other campsites.
