Built in the 1960s, and so decades newer than some other state facilities, this campground was recently renovated. It offers the opportunity to do all the usual things—hike, fish, and picnic—but you can also rent boats, from fishing and pleasure boats to pontoons. The hiking can be especially good, as the North Country National Scenic Trail passes by here. And there’s some neat history to explore. There are also cabins available for rent.
