This campground packs a lot of people into tight spaces, so don’t expect loads of solitude. But the park is nice enough to make things worthwhile. This is a very family- friendly park, meaning that it offers lots of options for those with children who might want to do multiple things in a day’s time. It has a new swimming beach with playground equipment, a changing station, and a concession that gets lots of use. The park has many miles of hiking trails as well. One not to be missed is the 1.6-mile Pumphouse Trail. This wide, mostly flat trail leads to Jones Mill Run Dam, a wonderfully scenic wall of cut stone built by men of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
