This campground offers many sites that are largely in the open. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Youghiogheny River Lake is 16 miles long and up to 0.5 mile wide, so powerboaters absolutely love it. It’s considered the best waterskiing and tubing lake in this half of the state, as the weekend crowds suggest. If there were such a thing as traffic lights for lakes, this one might need them, given its popularity. There are lots of other things to do here though. The tailwater of the dam, located just outside your door or tent flap at this campground, is one of the few places open to year-round trout fishing. This is one of the first places in the state where otters were reintroduced, and they’ve thrived in the decades since. People who hike and bike along the Yough River's multi-use trail sometimes see them amid some especially beautiful scenery.
