About half the sites here are in a mostly wooded area; the other half are more open. There’s also a group tenting site. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. There’s a self-guided water trail called the Black Willow Water Trail; suitable for canoes as well as larger boats, it takes you to specific features, some man-made, some natural, where you might observe wildlife or be able to study the exotic erosion patterns of headwater sandstone cliffs. Try the muskie fishing too, the lake is stocked with them. There’s also a lot of hunting to be found here. A call to the Corps office will get you a map that shows parking and access areas for hunters.
