Jamestown Campground is on the south shore and Linesville Campground on the north shore. The Jamestown Campground is the much larger of the two and the more crowded. There are watercraft concessions and marinas at both campgrounds, so you can rent boats by the hour, day, or even week if you don’t have your own. Pymatuning Lake is the main attraction and no wonder: At more than 17,000 acres, it accounts for most of the park’s total of 21,000 acres. In fact it’s the largest impoundment in the state. There’s still room to hike—there are more than 7 miles of trails—but boating, swimming, and fishing for the lake’s abundant walleyes, crappies, muskies, and bass are the main draws.
