This is the century route (plus a little more) for the Tour de Whatcom, a popular charity ride held annually in late July. It’s aptly named, for along with passing through just about every incorporated city and census-designated burg in the county, it serves as a sampler of many of the county’s rich natural wonders.
Stunning Cascade and Mount Baker views, far-reaching pastureland and berry fields, and the northern Puget Sound shoreline are just some of what you’ll see on this ride. It’s also surprisingly flat and is a terrific route on which to try for your fastest century.
