Activity Type: Sea Kayaking
Nearby City: Duxbury
Distance: 14-15 nautical miles
Tidal Information: 9.89-foot mean tidal range. Access through the Cut River is possible only close to high tide.
Hazards/Cautions: Many areas flat-out or become impassible at low tide, especially the marsh north of the bridge. If attempting the circumnavigation of Duxbury Beach/Gurnet Point, the creek can only be paddled for an hour or so around high tide. The beach is subject to open ocean conditions, particularly Gurnet Point, which is likely to be exposed to most winds and seas. The area west of Saquish Head can develop strong currents and steep waves when opposed by the wind.
Season: Year-round
Local Maps: NOAA chart #13253; Maptech #20
