Tidal Information: 8.9-foot average range in Gloucester Harbor. Current in the Annisquam River meets and divides somewhere between the town ramp and MA 128 bridge.
Hazards/Cautions: Depending on where the wind and swell originate, any of the seas around Cape Ann may be big and difficult, prone to rapid changes with the tidal current, with long exposed stretches with minimal bailouts. Cape Ann is known for numerous shipwrecks for a reason; plan well and monitor conditions carefully. See additional cautions for each area.
