Activity Type: Sea Kayaking

Distance: 5-16 nautical miles
Tidal Information: 9.04-foot mean tidal range in Thomaston. Current floods both inland, toward the rivers, and to the east, toward Penobscot Bay.
Hazards/Cautions: Friendship is a busy fishing harbor; avoid boat traffic. Muscongus Bay is subject to open ocean conditions, especially as one leaves the shelter of the inner islands. Current going in and out of the Medomak and St. George rivers can complicate those conditions.
