Tidal Information: 9.04-foot mean tidal range in Thomaston. Floods northeast, ebbs southwest. This route works best if you start on a falling tide, and the tide changes before you begin paddling back to the northeast.
Hazards/Cautions: A strong current runs through Muscle Ridge Channel. Be aware of conditions and how they will interact with the current, especially as tides change. The southeast shores of the outer islands are exposed to open ocean and even on mild days tend to have rough conditions.
