Muir Woods is famous for its redwoods. More than a million people visit each year, which can make the monument feel like a tourist trap and can also make parking difficult. For these reasons, I like taking the back entrance to Muir Woods. A combination of the Trestle Trail, Alice Eastwood Road, the Panoramic Trail, Canopy View Trail, Lost Trail, and Fern Creek Trail takes you on the downhill journey from Panoramic Highway to Muir Woods.
