In 1995 Fran Martin and Anne Seeman had a vision to transform Visitacion Valley. They wanted to develop six adjacent plots of empty, weed-?lled lots and a dilapidated mini park. Their plan was to create an outdoor classroom to revitalize the neighborhood; educate visitors about natural sciences, nutrition, and plants; create space for recreational activities; and make the area more pedestrian friendly.
