This wedding cake falls has five distinct tiers, stretching over a quarter mile of stacked, polished shale. Stand at the midpoint of the Mill Street bridge over Wiscoy Creek and gaze southward, and you may be lulled into thinking you’re in the uplands of Yellowstone National Park. This fly-fishing paradise provides rushing water in all four seasons with smooth, flat areas at the waterfall’s base. From this vantage point, you can see three sections of this falls—one that drops for 15 feet, another with a 25-foot drop, and a smaller cascade closest to you. There are actually five drops in all, so the Seneca Indians that settled in this area hundreds of years ago named it Wis Coy, meaning “five-fall brook.” The name now belongs to the village and the creek as well.
