Certain parts of Manhattan are always in the news, constantly being promoted. Other parts deserve the spotlight more often, and I’m happy to help them out. The neighborhood north of Harlem, Hamilton Heights, is home to a few treasures that have city, state, and national significance.
Here you find Hamilton Grange, a home of early American statesman Alexander Hamilton. Also here is CCNY, City College of New York, a longtime intellectual powerhouse whose main campus is a stunning collection of buildings. The southern section of legendary Sugar Hill, with its magnificent houses, is the northern parcel of Hamilton Heights. In addition, you’ll find notable and intriguing houses of worship, school buildings, and more.
