Manhattan has quite a few lively public parks beyond Central Park, each with its own personality and special features. This walk brings you to three of them. Union Square has the highest profile. It hosts a variety of activities throughout the year, is surrounded by places to eat and shop, and features a year-round farmers’ market. Gramercy Park is quiet and stately; only a select few can enter its gates, but you can still peer in and appreciate its beauty. Stuyvesant Square is bordered by a hospital on the east and a school and churches on the west; it hosts live musical performances in the summer.
