Three ponds in under 2 miles—what could be better? You can also add a fourth pond by extending the hike. There are different ways to reach Grassy Pond; you also can get there from Daicey Pond. This route takes you from Park Tote Road and heads south on the Appalachian Trail (AT) for a shorter trip. As you pass different trail junction signs, you will realize how interconnected many of the trails are, which makes various options available to you. This area offers prime wildlife watching, so keep your eyes and ears peeled. If you get a key ahead of time from the Daicey Pond Ranger Station, you can add a canoe trip to your hike with canoes available at both the inlet and outlet of Grassy Pond.
