At Wolfe’s Neck Woods, no waterfalls explode over cliffs, no panoramic views stretch over mountaintops to far horizons. This hike is not intended to bombard your senses; the rewards here are far more subtle. Watch spiders silently spinning webs, smell the salt on the ocean breeze, study the gulls swooping over Casco Bay and the pattern made by a cluster of trailside ferns. Kids will appreciate the numerous split-log bridges, the two encounters with water, and the abundance of knee-high natural treasures along the level trail. Adults will emerge from this preserve relaxed and refreshed.
