A great hike. My wife and I felt it to be extremely challenging and exuberant. The weather was comfortable for the hike, no rain and off we went. The bottom of the trail was mostly dry, snow and ice free. The upper half was just the opposite. Nonetheless we made it to the top in just under 2 hours which was our goal. No wildlife was seen on the trip up although we did see a few bear footprints. The view from the top of the gondola was awesome! We stayed on top for about fifteen minutes before getting a well deserved free 8 minute gondola ride down. I would highly recommend this trail to anyone looking for a moderately difficult hike. Mike and Sue from Los Angeles and pushing early 50's.
Trail was snow covered and slippery, there was avalanche danger present (Class 1 terrain). Not recommended for new hikers, especially until full melt. Unusually snowy for this time of the season
