Stellar trail and views! Hard hike in some spots but the views are all worth it. Completed it in three days but wish we would have taken longer just to enjoy and hang out. A group of five of us women hiked and had a blast!
We did this trail in reverse...from Jasper to Maligne, which is not recommended since there is more altitude gain in this direction. However, it was the only way we could get camp sites for us and our three kids (ages 12, 8, and 7 at the time). We took our time (did it in 5 days/4 nights) since we wanted the kids to have fun. Weather was great (just a little rain coming down the Notch), views were spectacular, and our kids still rave about it a year later! We had done the trip 20 years prior with just the two of us and it was just a spectacular as we remembered it.
SKYLINE TRAIL we hiked this trail the july 2808.
great views it's very special to pass trough very differents sections of this trail...valleys, summits , glaciers, lakes. it's by far the thoughest hike we ever made.
We have pass trough snow bowl and made a stop at curator hut then we have taken a shortcut to wabasso lake by the horse trail... take care of the indications just before enterring the wabasso lake section...finally we arrived at icefield parkway and made some hitching to return to jasper.....
in one day 13 hours with breaks- 38.5 kilometers. we highly recommend this trail to experienced hikers...and if you are highly athletic it is possible to do the all trail by tekerra trail all way down to jasper...but allow some 15-16 hours...good luck and be quick in your breaks...
