I've done this trail 4 times now. The first 2 times were about 15 years ago while camping with the parents, once this year, and once last year. It's a relatively flat and level hike because it goes around the circumference of a lake, and it takes about 5 hours to do at a steady pace with no long breaks. I tried jogging it this year (April 2009), although I had to walk most of the South side of the lake due to many deep patches of snow. Took me 3 hours. The lake depth can vary incredibly, and was probably 10-15 meters more shallow this April compared to last August. You can even walk to some of the "islands".
Gorgeous views on this lake side loop. Start by going west first to avoid the rocky footing and elevation gain at the very end of a long day hike.
