This trail is a great hike for those who are in moderately good shape. As of right now (April 2008)the trail is still covered with snow that has started to melt, some sections are very wet and some are very muddy. There is about 0.3km climb past McConnell Ridge that may require the use on hands and feet so a trekking pole would come in handy. Once the Prarie View Lookout is reached the views ae awesome - the Barrier Fire Lookout could not be reached at this time (1.4 km higher) as the trail had not been cut and there are some cravasses that may still be covered with snow making it dangerous. The descednt is very tricky so be careful. Appropriate footwear is advisable!!!
