Judy and I agree this particular hike, on one of the newer sections of the hiking trail, after half-dome (especially pretty in the fall), is mostly one of long strolls through either a forest of maple, aspen, birch, and spruce, stands of white and red pine, or a cutover dominated by aspen trees. Nice short, easy walk Judy tells me and the dogs agree for they are still full of energy and want to continue on the trail. Our string of hiking luck continues for the weather, once again, is close to a perfect ten: clear sky, light breeze, temperature about 50 or 55 degrees, and no bugs. I’m coming to agree that fall is the perfect time to hike along the North Shore.
