Ahoskie Creek joins several other creeks to form the Wiccacon River, northeast of Ahoskie. The Wiccacon is a winding blackwater stream with banks that vary from swampy to 35 feet high. Cypress and tupelo-gum trees line the banks. The Wiccacon gains width quickly on its short run to the Chowan River. This eTrail contains 2 sections of the Wiccacon River from Thomas Bridge Road (Hertford Co. 1427) bridge to Apache Road (Hertford Co. 1460) access on the Chowan River.
