Dillard Creek is shown on topo maps as Indian Creek, beginning in northeast Chowan County. It flows southwest into Dillard’s Millpond. Dillard’s Millpond was built in the early 1700s and powered a sawmill and gristmill. The gristmill was operated by water until 1952, when a tractor motor was installed and is still in use today. Cornmeal can be purchased at the building upstream left of the bridge at the put-in. From Dillard’s Millpond, Dillard Creek makes a short run to the Chowan River. This eTrail contains 1 section of Dillard Creek from Dillard's Mill Road (Chowan Co. 1226) bridge to Chowan River and return.
