Among other desirable features, Cabo Pulmo is at the outer limit of the cruising range of most fishing fleets. This means fewer boats, from either Cabo or East Cape, fish the area. Fly fishers usually appreciate solitude or, in southern Baja, less boat traffic. Cabo Pulmo Reef is a designated game reserve. Fishing is not permitted on or around the reef. The beaches on both sides of the reef, however, are accessible and provide good fly fishing near the rock structure and sandy areas.
