This area is a lovely natural retreat and offers a hefty uphill climb to enjoy the views from the top of Neversink Mountain. Witch’s Hat Pavilion is what remains of Neversink Mountain Hotel and, despite some graffiti, is a nice place to have a picnic lunch. This is a strenuous hike. Most of your time is spent going uphill. Since this is an out-and-back hike, you’ll retrace your steps all the way back. The trek down will be much quicker because it is almost entirely downhill. Keep your eye out for markers and blazes to guide you back to the parking area.
